UCLA's Danladi voted men's soccer player of the week
SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference announced UCLA’s Abu Danladi as the Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games from Oct. 13-19.
Danladi (Takoradi, Ghana) scored five points in two games last weekend to propel the Bruins to victories over No. 1 WASHINGTON and No. 17 OREGON STATE. After missing much of the season due to injury, Danladi made his home debut against the Huskies and assisted on the first goal in a game that ended with UCLA on top, 2-1. Against Oregon State, Danladi broke free for two goals to lead the Bruins to a 3-0 win. In just four starts for the Bruins, Danladi has racked up seven points, which ranks him third on the team.
The honor is Danladi’s first and is the Bruins’ 55th all-time player of the week selection, as well as their second this season.
UCLA is on the road this week and will face No. 1 Washington on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. PT and No. 17 Oregon State on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. PT. For more information and to view the 2014 television schedule, visit www.pac-12.com.
