Royce Freeman continues to shine in win over Cal

Over the past decade, Oregon has turned into a running back factory. Yet until last year, no true freshman had made a giant impact. Thomas Tyner set the true freshman single-season rushing yards record at Oregon with 741 in 2013.

Just eight games in this season, Royce Freeman has rewritten the record. With 112 yards and two touchdowns on Friday, Freeman overtook Tyner, who missed the game with an injury, helping the Ducks past the California Golden Bears in Levis Stadium, 59-41.

Freeman, all 230 pounds of him, has given Oregon a dimension they have never had -- a clear-cut number one who can go between the tackles and still has the speed to bounce outside. Pairing him with Marcus Mariota seems almost unfair, but that's where Oregon is at this point...stockpiling and showcasing offensive talent.
