Cal Women’s Basketball Launches ThisIsCalBasketball.com
BERKELEY – The fourth edition of ThisIsCalBasketball.com launched Sunday as the California women’s basketball program continues to offer unprecedented looks into the inner workings and personalities of Lindsay Gottlieb’s staff and student-athletes.
The launch of ThisIsCalBasketball.com includes a wide variety of enhanced multi-media presentations. The cutting-edge format of the website encourages fans to make repeated visits throughout the course of the season as more content is added to supplement the story both on and off the court throughout the year.
“The website is artistic, it's beautiful, it’s cutting edge: but most importantly, it introduces you to our student-athletes,” Gottlieb said. “I want to lead a program at Cal that is innovative and we aim to help push the game of Women’s Basketball forward, but we do so, always, with a focus on the young women who make up our team. We play 35 to 40 games a year, but they are a part of Cal Basketball, and the process of creating a championship-level program, for 365 days a year.”
Through the use of video and photo content, visitors to the website will earn in-depth knowledge about the student-athletes on the team, their backgrounds, their individuality and their relationships with their teammates and coaches – all presented in a way that conveys the emotion that they have for each other, for the University of California, and for the sport of basketball.
“What I love about thisiscalbasketball.com is that it captures more than just game day,” Gottlieb said. “It captures the essence of the people and the process we all undertake together. Through photos, audio and video, you get to meet our student-athletes in their element. What emerges is a wonderfully authentic glimpse into the diverse, strong, sensitive, funny, tough (the adjectives are endless!) group of young women that make up our team. This really is Cal Basketball, and we want people to use our website to stay connected to our journey.”
The site was designed by McClure Images, LLC and features the photography of Mollie McClure with content updated on a regular basis by the Cal basketball office.
