Huskies Earn Four Wins During Final Day of St. Mary’s Invite
MORAGA, Calif. – The University of Washington Women’s Tennis team ended their run at the St. Mary’s Invite on Sunday in the semifinals round of the three-day tournament.
Second-seeded Elianne Douglas-Miron made her way to the Red Singles semifinals after defeating seventh seed Jamie Pawid of St. Mary’s 6-2, 2-6, 1-0.
In the White Singles Quarterfinals, top-ranked Miki Kobayashi defeated Genev McCloskey of USF 6-0, 6-1.
Due to weather, the tournament was shortened and not all finals were completed. Both Elianne Douglas-Miron and Miki Kobayashi earned quarterfinal wins before withdrawing.
The Huskies also had two doubles pairs take the courts on the final day of the invite. Douglas-Miron and Kobayashi fell to the top-seeded USC pair in the Red Doubles semifinals 8-2. In the Blue Doubles Final, Natalie Allen and Sophia Bott defeated Yam and Garcia of UC Santa Barbara 8-6.
Washington will travel to San Diego to take part in the SDSU Invite on November 7th.
