Ducks to Conclude Fall Season at Ka’anapali Classic

EUGENE– Heading into the final tournament of the fall season, the Oregon men’s golf team looks to add to its success when the Ducks head to Lahaina, Maui for the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic this weekend. The tournament will be played on the par-71, 6,700 yards Royal Ka’anapali Course.

The No. 2-ranked Ducks will be squared off against 12 other teams from around the country, including No. 25 Clemson, No. 32 North Florida and No. 48 Georgia. All three ranked teams played in last year’s regional rounds with the Bulldogs being the only team other than the Ducks to advance to the NCAA Championships. UC Irvine and Loyola Marymount had individuals qualify for the regional rounds, both of which played in the Eugene Regional.

With a month off since its last tournament, the Oregon Ducks look to get back to where they left off after winning three tournaments in three weeks. The Ducks have made eight straight NCAA Regionals and five of the last seven NCAA Championships under head coach Casey Martin.

LAST TIME OUT
The 21st-ranked Oregon Ducks cruised to its third straight victory at a very competitive Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational by six strokes over second-place Stanford. The win – their third in three weeks – tied the program record from the fall of 2011 for most consecutive wins in the fall. Sophomore Thomas Lim also claimed medalist honors thanks to a 25-foot birdie on the 18th hole to secure his win over Cheng-Tsung Pan of Washington and secure the sweep for Oregon.
