Ka’imi Fairbairn Named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA junior kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Fairbairn, a junior from Kailua, Hawaii, converted three field goals and five extra points during a 44-30 UCLA win at Washington. He was successful on field goals of 30, 37 and 46 yards.

His first kick came as time ran out in the first half and put UCLA up 31-10 at the intermission. The 31 points were UCLA’s highest output in a first half this season. That 30-yard kick marked his 27th-straight field goal made from a distance of 35 yards and in.

Fairbairn came back in the second half to make kicks from 37 and 46 yards. The three kicks matched his career-high for a game and lifted him into sixth place on the all-time UCLA field goal list with 44 for his career. He was also credited with two touchbacks on his kickoffs during the contest.

The third-year starter is sixth all-time at UCLA with 44 field goals made and also ranks sixth in the school annals in scoring with 284 points.

UCLA will face rival USC on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Rose Bowl. Tickets can still be purchased for the rivalry game by clicking HERE.
