Arizona Softball to be Featured on ESPNU’s Road Trip

Nov 14, 2014

TUCSON – ESPNU’s Road Trip, a weekly half-hour show showcasing schools’ athletic departments and student life, made a stop at Hillenbrand Stadium on Friday as Arizona took the show’s spotlight for this Saturday’s football game against Washington.

The show, which will feature pieces on the football team, local dining, the ZonaZoo as well as Saturday’s football game, filmed a segment with the softball team, calling Arizona softball “the most successful program at Arizona.”

The lighthearted look into the Arizona softball world saw cohosts Jordan Eichenblatt and Rayven Tirado learn to field ground balls from the reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Kellie Fox before Tirado took pitching lessons from UA pitchers Michelle Floyd, Danielle O’Toole and Nancy Bowling in the bullpen. O’Toole and Floyd then took the circle as Eichenblatt stood in the box and tried to hit the Wildcat pitching.

The show will air live on ESPNU on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. MST. Be sure to check out the photo gallery from today’s shoot.
