USC

USC announced that it has reinstated cornerback Josh Shaw, though Steve Sarkisian hasn’t decided whether or not he will play against UCLA on Saturday.

Oregon

Oregon remained No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, with Alabama jumping to No. 1 after beating previously-top ranked Mississippi State. UCLA is No. 9, Arizona State is 13th, Arizona is 15th, Utah is 17th and USC is 19th. Six teams in the top 20 ain’t bad, yo.

Arizona State

I love it when schools add sports, so I was particularly excited about Arizona State adding men’s ice hockey for the 2015-16 season. The Sun Devils won the 2014 AHCA (club hockey) national championship. It also sounds like the Forks will be adding a sport on the women's side as well in 2016-17 (fingers crossed for field hockey or lacrosse).

Utah

Tuesday afternoon’s game between Utah and San Diego State wasn’t for those who enjoy seeing the biscuit go in the basket, and the Salt Lake Trib’s Kyle Goon writes that Utah’s veterans struggled in the Utes’ 53-49 loss to the Aztecs. Delon Wright, Jordan Loveridge and Brandon Taylor were a combined 7-for-30 from the floor in the loss.

Washington

Adam Jude of the Seattle Times says that Washington’s Shaq Thompson is still on the fringe of the Heisman discussion.

Arizona

Daniel Berk takes a look at the impact Arizona football transfers have had on the program. Former Longhorn Cayleb Jones has made a nice splash in the receiving corps for the 'Cats.

Colorado

BuffZone.com writer Brian Howell believes that Colorado playing quarterback Jordan Gehrke in the last two games could provide benefits to the Buffs in the future.

California

Mike Vernon of the SF Chronicle takes a look at the Big Game rivalry and how certain Cal players’ fathers have had success against the Cardinal when they were in Berkeley. Hardy Nickerson Jr.’s and Jared Goff’s dads played on the 1986 Cal team that stunned a 7-2 Stanford squad.

Stanford

In stark contrast to recent seasons, Stanford football is struggling to create turnovers, which coach David Shaw says is a byproduct of teams not feeling like they need to take chances against the Cardinal offensively (Jon Wilner on the link).

UCLA

Current UCLA sideline reporter and former UCLA quarterback Wayne Cook still doesn’t have love for USC. Just listen to him (or read his quotes provided to us by the LA Times’ Chris Foster) give his opinion on USC's “dominamce” of the series.

Washington State

Washington State is preparing for warmer conditions as it readies for a game in Tempe against Arizona State by practicing in its indoor practice bubble, notes Jacob Thorpe of The Spokesman-Review.

Oregon State

The ESPN Pac-12 Blog called Oregon State linebacker Michael Doctor’s pick six of Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly the play of the week in the conference.
