Ten Huskies Earn Pac-12 Academic Honors

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Pac-12 released the All-Academic teams for cross country this Wednesday with eight huskies making the list for their devotion in the classroom and on the course. Junior Eleanor Fulton was named to the Second Team for the women with multiple honorable mention selections on both the men’s and women’s side.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Fulton, with a 3.75 cumulative GPA is majoring in Business Administration. Finishing in the top-25 at Regionals last week Fulton will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for the NCAA Cross Country Championships this coming Saturday along with five more honorable mention recipients in juniors Erin Johnson and Maddie Meyers, sophomores Kaylee Flanagan and Jenna Sanders, and redshirt freshman Kelly Lawson.

On the men’s side, four Huskies received honorable mention honors including Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Colby Gilbert. Redshirt freshmen Johnathan Stevens and A.J. Yarnall will join Gilbert on the trip to Terre Haute, Ind. for the men’s first NCAA Championships appearance since 2009.

Sophomore Blake Nelson rounds out the honorable mention list for the men.
