Utah

Saturday was a good day in Vegas for Utes fans. First, Utah dominated Colorado State in the Las Vegas Bowl to the tune of a 45-10 whoopin’.  Matthew Piper writes that Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham said this was his most fulfilling year as a head coach since 2008, when Utah beat ‘Bama in the Sugar Bowl. Later that evening, Utah men’s basketball defeated UNLV 59-46, and Kyle Goon writes that mental adjustments made by Utah helped it beat UNLV.

Oregon State

Kudos to Oregon State women’s basketball for being ranked No. 10 in the AP poll, its highest ranking in school history. Also, let’s find out the details on Oregon State football coach Gary Andersen’s first week on the job, thanks to Gina Mizell of The Oregonian.

Stanford

Potentially good news for Cardinal fans; it sounds like David Shaw plans to stay at Stanford despite potential offers from NFL teams, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Washington

Huge statement win for the Washington men’s hoops team in Vegas, and Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo! Sports has some things to say about Washington’s win over Oklahoma, giving the Huskies an “A-“ for their performance. Romar and Friends are now 10-0 this season with wins over the Sooners and San Diego State.

UCLA

Not a fun one for the Bruin faithful Saturday in Chicago, as Kentucky demolished UCLA 83-44, a game in which Kentucky took domination to a new level in the UCLA rout, writes Brian Hamilton of SI. The Wildcats scored 24 before the Bruins got on the board and it was 41-7 Kentucky at the half.

California

For your Cal link, I provide you with this Marshawn Lynch 79-yard touchdown run against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday night. And here’s the Seattle Seahawks’ radio call of Lynch’s run. And here’s what Lynch’s teammates had to say about his run. Beast mode.

Oregon

The smear campaign has begun (just kidding) – Chantel Jennings talked to the six players who have intercepted passes thrown by Marcus Mariota over the last two years. Just six picks in his 758 attempts. That’s a fine number, I’d say.

Arizona

Bruce Pascoe notes that Arizona men’s basketball has gotten off to perfect starts lately. Arizona has begun each of the last three seasons 12-0. The ‘Cats will have their third-straight perfect pre-conference slate with a win at UNLV Tuesday night.

Colorado

Colorado wide receiver Bryce Bobo will miss spring football due to recent shoulder surgery, Mike MacIntyre told reporters like Kyle Ringo.

Washington State

"Josh Hawkinson Doin’ Work: an Ernie Kent Joint." Behind his 25 points and 13 rebounds (sixth double-double of the season, btw), Washington State basketball beat San Jose State 82-53.

Arizona State

Here’s an Arizona State-Duke Sun Bowl preview courtesy of Jerry Hinnen of CBS Sports. He has the Forks winning a tight one over the Blue Devils, 31-30.

USC

Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times features USC linebacker Quinton Powell, who was named the special teams player of the year for USC at the team’s banquet.
