Arizona State and Oregon State Take Pac-12 Lead

The Pac-12 continues to have three teams ranked in the top-15, led by No. 9 Oregon State in the AP rankings, followed by Stanford and Arizona State. Last week 13/12 ARIZONA STATE swept through the Bay Area knocking off both California and Stanford, while 9/8 OREGON STATE swept past the Huskies and the Cougars in Washington. Both schools moved to 6-0.  Both Monday games were close.

11/16 STANFORD saw its season-best seven-game win streak come to an end, as the Sun Devils became just the fifth Pac-12 team ever to sweep through the Bay Area. ASU had led by as many as 17 and saw the Cardinal close to within one with five minutes left.

OSU went on an 11-2 run to end its game against Washington, after the Huskies led with five minutes left. On Sunday, Cal, after dropping a 67-52 game to ASU on Friday, had to hold off winless ARIZONA on Sunday, 68-56. Arizona overcame its own 17-point deficit to lead the Bears by two with under six minutes remaining.

UCLA used a game-ending 11-0 run to erase a six-point halftime lead by USC, to win 71-60 and sweep the season series. Last week also saw COLORADO take down UTAH twice. This week Cal and Stanford will head to Southern California, Oregon and Oregon State are in Arizona and Colorado and Utah are in Washington. ASU carries a perfect 10-0 home record.

Sunday will also feature a rematch of last year’s Pac-12 Tournament Semifinal between USC and Stanford. USC knocked out the Cardinal and went on to win the Pac-12 Tournament title.
