Pac-12 places 13 players on USA Softball Player of the Year watch list

Five teams in the NFCA preseason poll. Five teams in the coaches poll. And the honors just keep rolling in for the Conference of Champions as softball season rapidly approaches.

Thirteen Pac-12 players from seven schools are on the preseason watch list for the USA Softball Player of the Year award, the organiation announced Wedesday. That ties the league with the SEC for the most players from any conference on the watch list.

The list includes all of last year's Pac-12 end-of-season award winners, including the:

  • Player of the Year - Ally Carda, UCLA
  • Pitcher of the Year - Cheridan Hawkins, Oregon
  • Defensive Player of the Year - Kellie Fox, Arizona
  • Freshman of the Year - Katiyana Mauga, Arizona
