This week in Pac-12 women's basketball
LAST WEEK FEATURED UPSETS GALORE, THREE TEAMS STILL TWO GAMES BACK
The Pac-12 features three top-20 teams, led by 8/9 OREGON STATE, followed by 12/12 ARIZONA STATE and 19/19 STANFORD. CALIFORNIA is the Pac-12’s hottest team, having won seven-straight. The Golden Bears sit 1.0 game back along with the Sun Devils, while the Cardinal are 2.0 games back of Pac-12-leading Oregon State. OSU dropped its first Pac-12 game of the season last week.
There were nearly a half dozen games which were close or provided upsets last week-- starting on Friday, February 6 with OREGON winning at WASHINGTON STATE 70-69, WASHINGTON winning at home over Oregon State and Stanford with a game-winning bucket at Arizona State, 53-52; and on Sunday, February 8, Cal upset ASU in Tempe, 50-49 and Arizona won at home over the Cardinal in Tucson, 60-57. This Friday, Arizona State travels to Corvallis to take on the Beavers in the marquee matchup of the weekend. The Wildcats are also in Oregon. Oregon has won three of its last four games. USC and UCLA are in the Bay Area, as both swept past Colorado and Utah this past weekend. The Washington schools are in Colorado and Utah. WSU has dropped four-straight and Utah has fallen in three-straight.
Three weeks remain in the regular season before the Pac-12 Tournament at Key Arena on March 5-8.
