Softball Returns to Pac-12 Networks March 10

UCLA Athletics

Former Arizona Wildcat Kenzie Fowler joins Pac-12 Networks’ on-air roster

SAN FRANCISCO (March 3, 2015) –The 2015 Pac-12 softball season is underway and Pac-12 Networks is excited to announce former Arizona pitching standout Kenzie Fowler as an analyst addition for 78 live softball game telecasts all season on Pac-12 Networks. The fastest game on four bases starts on Tuesday, March 10 at 5 p.m. PT with No. 15 UCLA hosting No. 9 Baylor.

With 10 more collegiate softball games than last year, the Networks’ third season of softball telecasts includes 108 different appearances from six Pac-12 teams ranked in the top 25 of the USA Today/NFCA Coaches’ Rankings. Additionally, 38% of games on air involve a three-game series – 10 in total.

Fowler joins the Pac-12 Networks on-air squad as a softball analyst as her first foray in broadcasting. The former Arizona pitcher is a two-time All-American (2010, 2011), two-time high school National Gatorade Player of the Year, and earned Women's College World Series All-Tournament Team honors in 2010. Fowler ranks eighth in Arizona history with 87 career wins, sixth in career strikeouts with 857 and ninth with 718.2 innings pitched. After her collegiate career, Fowler interned at Pac-12 Networks in the Production department during the summer of 2014.

Ann Schatz, Anne Marie Anderson, Krista Blunk and Guy Haberman complete the play-by-play team. Fowler joins Tammy Blackburn, Amanda Freed, Jessica Mendoza and Teri Goldberg as on-air analysts.

Each Pac-12 program boasts at least 13 Networks appearances: Arizona (17), Arizona State (20), Cal (17), Oregon (17), Oregon State (13), Stanford (17), UCLA (18), Utah (17) and Washington (19).  The Pac-12 has won six national titles in the past nine years and, once again, Pac-12 Networks is there to cover the run towards another championship.
