FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- It took but one event for the Arizona State men's swimming team to make history Thursday at the 2015 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships. Surrounded around some of the fastest swimmers in the world, the Sun Devils showed why they belong, breaking the school record in the 200 medley relay.

The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center from Federal Way, Wash. will play host to the Pac-12 Championships for the second consecutive week, and the Sun Devils continue to find success at the venue.

On Wednesday night, swimming in the first event, the 200 medley relay, the ASU A relay team consisting of sophomore Richard Bohus, junior Thibaut Capitaine, sophomore Tadas Duskinas and freshman Patrick Park did something no other relay team in school history has done, touching the pad one last time in a final time of 1:25.72.

The time the Devils recorded was good enough for fifth place, just .55 seconds behind Arizona. All four teams that finished ahead of ASU -- Cal, USC, Stanford and Arizona, in order -- are ranked in the CSCAA Top-25. It also helped ASU pick up 28 early points of which will bode well heading into Thursday's first full day of competition.

Breaking records and all, the ASU relay team notched a NCAA B cut time, but barely missed out on the A cut time that would've sent it to NCAAs. The Sun Devils will swim a time trial on Sunday with hopes of recording the necessary time for NCAA qualification.

"There are a lot of things we can clean up," Earhart said.

Following the 200 medley relay was the 800 freestyle relay. In that race, to cap off the evening, sophomores Barkley Perry and Thomaz Martins, senior Zac Dalby and Park finished with a time of 6:30.53, good enough for sixth place and 26 points.
