Dino in the dugout: Arizona softball's lucky charm
Baseball and softball fans in Tucson were treated to quite the double dip on Sunday.
First came the 13-4 win by the Arizona baseball team (not to mention Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was there) over Oregon in the afternoon, then came the 11-1 run-rule victory by the softball team over rival Arizona State in the nightcap.
The lady Wildcats hit a pair of homers in the fifth inning, including the game-winner from Katiyana Mauga to walk off in style. But they also had a little bit of help from a furry pink dinosaur wedged on the fence of the team dugout.
Dino was his name-o. And he's also on scholarship, according to Mauga.
"He's like our spirit, I guess you could say," Mauga said during her postgame interview with Pac-12 Networks. "Our lucky charm."
