OSU Continues Spring season with Pair of Matches

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Continuing the spring season, the Oregon State volleyball team played a pair of matches Sunday against Pac-12 foes Washington and Oregon. Playing multiple rotations during the afternoon, the Beavers were felled 3-0 in both matches.

“We played 6 sets on Sunday and played a different lineup each time," said associate head coach Mark Barnard. "We played everyone, giving equal time at all positions. We were looking for personal development over the weekend and couldn’t really settle in overall.”

The Beavers are playing the spring season with 10 of 14 players from the 2014 fall season. They have added the four freshman that redshirted in 2014, junior college transfer Jessi Seumalo and incoming freshman Daniela Vargas. They will also add incoming freshman Kayla Ellis for the 2015 fall season.

“We had a lot of good performances. Kory Cheshire and Lanesha Reagan both had standout days. Mary-Kate Marshall played well all-around. Darby Reeder, Hannah Troutman and Rachel Buehner were all solid in the back row. Our blocking looked good as well.”

The Beavers will complete their spring season with another match against Oregon, traveling to Eugene Thursday, May 14.
