Sometimes, it's the briefest of moments that make the biggest changes to a person's life. One of those moments came today for Oregon Ducks senior Katie Gruys.
Gruys, a women's basketball walk-on from Maple Lake, Minnesota, has played sparingly for the Ducks in her three seasons on the team. However, it was her hard work and her commitment to team that brought on Monday's emotional moment in Eugene.
Luckily, Oregon had a camera out to take video of the moment that Gruys was told that she was being put on scholarship for her final year.
"We want to reward hard work, discipline, great attitude and things like that," Ducks head coach Kelly Graves said to her team at Monday's practice. Watch the video below:
