Morrison Accepts Job At Georgia Tech

SEATTLE -- Friday, Georgia Tech women's basketball announced the hiring of Kevin Morrison as an assistant coach. This ends Morrison's tenure at Washington where he was promoted to Associate Head Coach after the 2012-13 season.

Morrison spent four seasons in Seattle, two as an Assistant Coach under Kevin McGuff and then two more as the Associate Head Coach when Mike Neighbors was hired as the Head Coach.

Morrison was a member of the staff as the Dawgs have returned to prominence over the past four seasons, culminating in a 23-win 2014-15 season that included a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007.

"Coach Morrison and his family have been key in building and establishing the momentum we have in our program," said Neighbors. "This is a tremendous opportunity for him to grow a national reputation as he continues to build his resume for becoming a head coach. Our entire program thanks him for his efforts and we wish him well."

A nationwide search to replace Morrison on the Husky staff is underway.

"The University of Washington, the city of Seattle and the recent success of our program has made this a very desirable place to coach," said Neighbors. "We will find the best fit for our student-athletes and will do so in a timely fashion."
