Track & Field?s Alum Clarke Makes USATF World Team

EUGENE, Ore.—Arizona State track and field’s alum shot putter Jordan Clarke made the USA Track and Field World team on Sunday at the USA Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.

Clarke took third in the shot put with his final throw, marked at 21.49m (70-6.25), and he and the rest of Team USA will compete at the 2015 IAAF World Championships, Aug. 22-30, in Beijing, China.

Also for ASU, sprinter Charonda Williams won her heat of the 200m dash semifinals at 22.77, and went on to finish eighth overall in the finals with a time of 22.71.

In the 1500m run finals, Shelby Houlihan, who recently joined the Bowerman Track Club, finished 10th with a time of 4:17.15.

Also on the track, Desiree Davila took eighth in the 5000m run finals at 15:37.50.

In the finals of the triple jump, Chris Benard took fourth in the finals with a best mark of 16.95m (55-7.50).
