Jun 29, 2015

Televised special honoring 2015 Tom Hansen Conference Medal winners premieres Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. PT

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 29, 2015) – While live event productions have come to a close for the 2014-15 season, Pac-12 Networks has a slate of fresh programming and classic marathons on deck for a #Pac12Summer that will keep fans entertained through August.

The summer slate is headlined by Pride of the Pac, premiering Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. PT. Hosted by Mike Yam and Ashley Adamson, the one-hour special honoring the 24 winners of the prestigious Tom Hansen Conference Medal. Named after former Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen, the medal has been awarded for the past 53 years to the top student-athletes demonstrating excellence in scholarship, athletics and leadership.

Pride of the Pac features profiles on all 24 winners, which include one male and one female student-athlete from each Conference institution. The special also includes an interview with Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, who shares the significance of the award and how past winners such as Pat Tillman, Jennie Finch, Bill Walton and John Elway speak to the qualities that the Pac-12 Conference stands for.

The celebration of the best from the 2014-15 Pac-12 athletic season begins tonight at 7:00 p.m. PT with the season finale of Pac-12 Sports Report. During the year-end spectacular, co-hosts JB Long and Ashley Adamson take viewers through all the best Pac-12 moments, including a countdown of the top six male and female athletes of the year, a recap of the 2015 NBA Draft and a look back at some of the best interviews, off-the-field moments and staff memories of the show’s second season. Long and Adamson will also be joined by Sports Report contributors Glenn Parker and Lamar Hurd who give their final thoughts on 2014-15 Pac-12 football and men’s basketball seasons, respectively.

Following the Sports Report finale, a new episode of The 12 Best will countdown the ‘Athletes of the Year’ at 9:00 p.m. PT. The season finale of The 12 Best will rank the ‘Moments of the Year’ Monday, July 6 at 7:00 p.m. PT.

On Wednesday, July 15 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. PT the series Timelines returns, offering a 30-minute school-specific look back at all the great moments from the 2014-15 season. Hosted by Yam and Adamson, each show shines a light on a different campus with all 12 Conference institutions represented. The first air of each show will premiere on its respective regional network. From football and basketball to tennis, water polo and golf, Timelines relives all the sports milestones achieved on each campus, which collectively produced an additional nine NCAA Championships for the Pac-12 this past year.
