Cats Arrive in Hollywood for Pac-12 Media Days

LOS ANGELES – The University of Arizona football contingent arrived here in Hollywood Wednesday afternoon in advance of a busy Pac-12 Media Days schedule set for Thursday and Friday on the nearby property of Warner Bros. Entertainment.

The annual event welcomes the conference’s head coaches as well an offensive and defensive player from each school to meet with television partners and media members to promote the quickly-approaching 2015 season.

Arizona’s senior player representatives, Will Parks and David Richards, flew in today from Tucson, while head coach Rich Rodriguez and the rest of the league’s coaches were due to arrive later this evening following a full-slate of media obligations at ESPN’s “Car Wash” in Bristol, Conn. The Wildcat trio and the rest of the league’s media day participants are staying at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

Thursday’s Slate

·         The Pac-12 Preseason Media Poll is expected to be released at 8 a.m. (PT).

·         Around the same time, Rodriguez, Parks and Richards will begin a three-hour promotional circuit with the league’s television partners, including Pac-12 Networks, FOX and ESPN.

·         Head coaches will attend an afternoon officiating meeting before attending the Commissioner’s Reception in the evening.

·         Following an afternoon break, student-athletes will attend the Jimmy Kimmel Concert Series and a dinner in the evening.

·         Note: The conference splits the schools into two groups of six. Half of the teams spend one day with the television partners and the other half participate in traditional media day events with print, radio and local TV stations. The schools then switch their media obligations the second day.

Friday’s Agenda

·         The Wildcats will lead off the second day in the main media interview sessions at 9:30 a.m.

·         Following a 40-minute open media session, Rodriguez, Parks and Richards will join Pac-12 Networks for various interviews and recorded promotions starting at 10:10 a.m. and concluding by 10:50 a.m.

·         From there, the Wildcats will spend the next couple hours touring the television/radio village with local, regional and national media members.

·         A lunch break at 12:30 p.m. will provide opportunity for more one-on-one interviews with writers and reporters, before festivities wrap up at 2:30 p.m.

·         Rodriguez, Parks and Richards will return home Friday evening.
