Misana Viltz and Dotun Ogundeji Medal at Pan-Am Juniors

EDMONTON, Alberta – The young Bruins continue to shine this summer as a pair of UCLA track & field standouts medaled at the Pan-Am Junior Championships at Foote Field in Edmonton, Alberta.

Already with the top junior time in the world in the 110m hurdles, Misana Viltz was unfazed by a long weather delay to claim gold for the United States. The Long Beach, Calif., native who is about to enter his sophomore season in Westwood clocked a 13.30 for the win. He became the 12th American to earn gold in the 110m hurdles at the Pan-Am Juniors.

Dotun Ogundeji, who redshirted his freshman season at UCLA, uncorked a throw of 63-0 (19.20m) in the shot put on his first attempt to secure a silver medal and help the US to a 1-2 finish in the event. Ogundeji was also the runner-up at the USATF Junior Championships.

UCLA speedster Leon Powell was an alternate on the 4x100m relay.
