Roundup: Jeff Lockie leading Oregon for now
With Vernon Adams still not officially a Duck, quarterback Jeff Lockie is leading Oregon football at the start of training camp. Anne M. Peterson of the AP has the story.
Cal men’s basketball announced its nonconference schedule. The Golden Bears open up with Rice on Nov. 13 and face tests from San Diego State, West Virginia/Richmond (preseason tourney in Vegas), Wyoming and Virginia.
Speaking publicly for the first time this season on Tuesday, Kevin Hogan said Stanford’s offensive turnaround at the end of last season was due to better communication between the players and coaching staff (David Lombardi). Also, coaches picked Stanford women’s volleyball to win the Pac-12 this year, with Arizona State picked to come in second and Washington to finish third.
