The growing importance of this game has made it a must-attend event for all Pac-12 football fans. Last year, the Pac-12 Championship Game was a battle of top-ten teams as No. 2 Oregon faced No. 7 Arizona with an appearance in the first-ever College Football Playoff on the line. Oregon took the momentum of their Pac-12 championship win to the Rose Bowl and all the way to the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship game.
The Pac-12 features great depth this season with six teams ranked in the Preseason AP Top 25. The season will culminate in a meeting of the best of the Pac-12 North and the Pac-12 South at the state-of-the-art Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., home of Super Bowl 50. This will be the second year of the Pac-12’s partnership with Levi’s® Stadium.
Also this year, the Pac-12 is celebrating 100 years of excellence. The centennial celebration centers around the anniversary of the founding of the Pac-12 on Dec. 2, 1915. The football championship game on Dec. 5 will be a significant part of the Pac-12’s 100th birthday celebration.
