Week 2 Recap: The Wildcats took care of business on Aug. 28 as they traveled to Flagstaff and defeated Northern Arizona by a score of 4-0. Haley Silverberg, Hayley Estopare, Paige Crouch and Hannah Stevens scored for the Wildcats and Jaden DeGracie added two assists.
Stoian in the Record Books: Stoian is currently eighth on the all-time Arizona scoring list with 16 career goals. With her assist last week, she has the sixth-most career points of any Arizona player with 41, just two behind Christine Keeley. The sophomore is also tied for sixth in the all-time assist list with nine career helpers. Stoian is already halfway to the Arizona career goal scoring record, which was set by Mallory Miller who had 32 career goals.
DeGracie's Dimes: Junior Jaden DeGracie dished out two assists against NAU last weekend and now has 14 career assists, which is tied for second on the Arizona all-time assist list and is five behind Mallory Miller.
Ironwomen: Defenders Sheaffer Skadsen, Laura Pimienta and Haley Silverberg have been warriors for the Wildcats so far. Skadsen has played all 90 minutes twice already while Pimienta and Silverberg did it against Santa Clara on Aug. 23.
Not Up In Here: Arizona's defense has been stifling all season as they have only allowed one goal and 16 shots (5.3 per match) over the first three matches. While opponents have only taken 16 shots against Arizona, Hannah Wong and Stoian have combined to take 16 shots themselves this year.
Same Faces Different Places: Head coach Tony Amato and assistant coach Kylie Louw are no strangers to Stephen F. Austin. Amato coached at Stephen F. Austin prior to Arizona from 2010-12 and had a record of 45-12-3 during that time, which included two conference titles in 2011 and 2012. Louw played for Amato for three seasons and graduated from SFA as the school's all-time leader in points (96) and assists (42).
Conference Leaders: Arizona leads the Pac-12 in goals (10) and points (28). Individually, Stoian leads the conference in goals (3), assists (2) and points (8)
