'Next man up' scores Arizona’s first touchdown of the season
Not a bad way to start the 2015 football season for Arizona. On the second play from scrimmage in the Wildcats’ season opener against UTSA, safety Anthony Lopez picked off Roadrunner quarterback Blake Bogenschutz's pass and took it 23 yards to the house.

Also not a bad way to live up to the “next man up” philosophy that’s so pervasive in college football. Lopez, who wasn’t listed on the Wildcats’ depth chart in the weekly game notes, was on the field as a result of Rich Rodriguez keeping Tellas Jones out of the game for a violation of team rules. That’s what you call making the most of your opportunity.
His pick-six put Arizona on the board just 35 seconds into the game without its explosive attack touching the ball.
