Pac-12 Announces Volleyball Players of the Week
SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today the Pac-12 Volleyball Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 21-27. USC’s Samantha Bricio was voted the Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year, USC’s Alicia Ogoms was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week and OREGON’s Lindsey Vander Weide was selected the Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: SAMANTHA BRICIO, USC (SR, OH, Guadalajara, Mexico)
Samantha Bricio led then-No. 3 USC to a pair of victories on the road to start Conference play. Bricio posted 10 kills, eight digs and had four total blocks to beat cross-town rival, then-No. 13 UCLA, 3-0, on Wednesday. On Sunday, Bricio and the Trojans faced then-No. 8 Stanford and Bricio was outstanding. She recorded 27 kills, five service aces, 10 digs and four total blocks in the 3-2 come-from-behind victory at Maples Pavilion, snapping Stanford's 27-match home-win streak. For the two matches, she averaged 4.62 kills, 0.75 service aces per set, 2.25 digs, and 6.00 points per set. She leads the nation in aces per set at 0.85 and in points per set at 6.22. Bricio, who had been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week three times in her career entering the season, has earned the honor for the seventh time overall. It is USC’s 63rd all-time weekly honor.

PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: ALICIA OGOMS, USC (SR, MB, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada)
Alicia Ogoms was a force at the net for USC in its two victories over top-15 Pac-12 opponents. Against then-No. 13 UCLA in the Conference opener, she tallied five total blocks in the 3-0 victory. She also registered five kills with a hitting percentage of .400. In the matchup against then-No. 8 Stanford, Ogoms recorded a career-high nine total blocks in a come-from-behind win at Maples Pavilion which snapped a 27-match home-winning streak. She also added eight kills with a .438 hitting percentage. It is her first-career weekly recognition and it is the 64th all-time for USC.

PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: LINDSEY VANDER WEIDE, OREGON (FR, OH, Turlock, Calif.)
Lindsey Vander Weide contributed to the Ducks both offensively and defensively last week in the first week of Pac-12 play. She became the first Duck to record 25 kills in a match since Liz Brenner in 2013 and is one of only four players in the league this year to reach the 25-kill mark. In the Ducks' 3-1 win at Oregon State, she recorded career highs in kills (25), hitting percentage (.457) and digs (16). It was her first career double-double, as well. In the 3-0 loss at Arizona, Vander Weide totaled eight kills, 14 digs and one block. It is Vander Weide's second freshman of the week accolade, earning the award on Sept. 7. It is the sixth time a Duck has received the award since the honor was instated in 2011.
