Roundup: Oregon State, Arizona State share regular-season crown

Oregon State

There is a shared regular-season crown in the Pac-12 women’s basketball landscape this year, as Oregon State defeated Cal and Arizona State lost to UCLA to get both the Beavers and Sun Devils to 16-2. Back in Corvallis, Oregon State women’s basketball is celebrating back-to-back Pac-12 titles, as Gina Mizell was there Sunday night when the team got back to campus to watch the fans celebrate and the team cut down a net in the practice facility.

Arizona State

Here’s the Associated Press recap of Arizona State’s 74-61 loss to No. 14 UCLA to make the tie with Oregon State possible. The Sun Devils will have the No. 2 seed in Seattle. Stanford

Stanford forward Erica McCall was named Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after dropping 25 apiece against Oregon State and Oregon. That win over Oregon State was the 1,000th win for Stanford women’s basketball.

California

Kudos to Cal men’s basketball for completing an undefeated season at home after waxing USC 87-65 behind 18 points apiece from super freshmen Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb. It’s the first time the Bears have gone lossless at home in 56 years.

Utah

CBS Sports bracketologist Jerry Palm says Utah men’s basketball is peaking at the right time as we near Selection Sunday. The Utes, a No. 3 seed in Palm’s latest projections, are coming off an impressive win at home over Arizona Saturday afternoon.

Colorado

Pat Rooney writes that the Colorado men’s basketball seniors went out in style with a 79-69 win over Arizona State in their final game at the Coors Events Center.

UCLA

Washington State

Jacob Thorpe recaps Washington State’s 15th consecutive loss, a 69-49 drubbing at the hands of Oregon State on Gary Payton II’s Senior Night in Corvallis Sunday. The last time the Cougs lost 15 in a row was 1999-2000.

USC

USC claimed its first Pac-12 women’s swimming and diving championship on Saturday. The Trojans finished with 1,481 team points, while Stanford came in second at 1,344.

Washington

Former Washington linebacker Travis Feeney’s NFL draft stock is rising after a very impressive stint at the NFL combine, writes Luke Easterling of Bleacher Report. Dude ran a 4.50 40-yard dash (second fastest of any linebacker) and posted a 40-inch vertical jump (first among LBs).

Oregon
