Oregon's Aaron Wise named Pac-12 men's golfer of the month
SAN FRANCISCO – Aaron Wise of OREGON has been named the Pac-12 Men’s Golfer of the Month for February, the Pac-12 announced today.
Wise, a sophomore from Lake Elsinore, Calif., posted an average score of 69.67 over the month of February to lead the Ducks to a tie for a third-place finish at the Amer Ari Invitational and a fourth-place finish at the Southwestern Jones Invitational.
He won his second tournament of the season and fourth of his career at the Amer Ari Invitational with a 16-under 200 (69-67-64). After only 19 career tournaments, Wise becomes only the second Duck in program history to medal four times in his collegiate career.
Wise is one of seven Pac-12 golfers among the 25 collegiate golfers named to the Ben Hogan Award watch list. The other six include 2015 Hogan Award winner Jon Rahm of Arizona State; 2015 Pac-12 medalist and Player of the Year Maverick McNealy of Stanford; Sean Crocker and Rico Hoey of USC; Jonathan Garrick of UCLA; Corey Pereira of Washington.
The Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships will take place April 29-May 1 at The Country Club in Salt Lake City, Utah.
