Men?s S&D Opens NCAA Championships with 800 Free Relay

ATLANTA, Ga. – The NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships opened with the 800 free relay on Wednesday. The Cats finished 17th in the event, just falling short of scoring points to get on the board.

The team of Riccardo Maestri, Thane Maudslien, Nick Thorne and Parks Jones finished with a time of 6:20.73, only six-tenths of a second behind Alabama.

Arizona came up short of All-America Honorable Mention honors and scoring points by only one place, as the 16th-finishing team is the last to get honors and points.

The Cats continue the NCAA Championships in Atlanta on Thurs. Mar. 24 at 7 a.m. MST with the 200 free relay prelims. Other events include the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 400 medley relay and 1-meter. Finals begin at 3 p.m. MST. Both can be live streamed here.
