‘Twas the most successful WNBA Draft in 14 years for the Conference of Champions with seven players being selected. Oregon State led the way with two draftees, as Jamie Weisner and Ruth Hamblin were selected back-to-back in the second round, with Weisner going 17th to Connecticut and Hamblin going 18th to Dallas. The other Pac-12 Final Four team was represented in the WNBA Draft also, as Washington forward Talia Walton was selected 29th by the Los Angeles Sparks, becoming the highest-drafted player in Husky women’s hoops history.
Oregon basketball forward Dillon Brooks declared for the NBA Draft but hasn’t hired an agent, reports Jeff Goodman of ESPN. The sophomore averaged 16.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last year in helping the Ducks reach the Elite Eight.
