Roundup: Adoree' Jackson on pace for Olympic trials
Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times tells us that USC football player/long jumper Adoree’ Jackson is within “leaping distance” of the Olympic trials. Going into last weekend’s UCLA meet, Jackson ranked 16th nationally in the long jump at 25-8 (top 24 qualify for Olympic trials).
Arizona’s Annika Sörenstam was named Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Century, while Arizona State’s Phil Mickelson was named Pac-12 Men’s Golfer of the Century.
Arizona State fired women’s gymnastics coach Rene Lyst, Vice President for Athletics Ray Anderson said in a statement (The Arizona Republic). Ralph Rosso will be the interim head coach while the Sun Devils conduct a national search.
Going beyond the jerseys we linked to in the Monday roundup, quarterback Dakota Prukop impressed in Oregon’s spring game, writes Anne M. Peterson of the Associated Press. Prukop completed 20 of 29 passes for 190 yards and threw two touchdown passes north of 30 yards apiece.
