Jan 2, 2017

Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week (1/2/17) - Dillon Brooks, Jr., F, OREGON

Naismith and Wooden Award National Player of the Year candidate Dillon Brooks earned his second career Pac-12 Player of the Week award in voting conducted by media who cover the league. He previously won the award on Feb. 1, 2016.

• The 6-7 junior forward from Mississauga, Ontario averaged 25.5 points on 60 percent shooting (18-30), 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals as Oregon opened Pac-12 play with home victories over previously unbeaten and nationally ranked teams UCLA and USC. Brooks' standout play helped extend the Ducks' overall winning streak to 11 straight games, tied as the fifth-longest in the nation, and NCAA Division I's second-longest home court winning streak to 35 consecutive games.

• Brooks' breakout week began with a then season-high 23 points, including the game-winning three pointer with 0.8 seconds left to knock off No. 2 UCLA, 89-87, on Wednesday. The momentum carried over to Friday's 84-61 win over No. 22 USC as Brooks scored a season-best 28 points in just 24 minutes on 9-of-10 field goals, including a perfect 4-of-4 behind the arc.

Brooks currently ranks 14th in the Pac-12 in scoring at 14.8 points per game. He concluded non-conference play ranked 28th in the league, averaging 12.7 points.
