Roundup: Steve Sarkisian getting good reviews as new Alabama OC

Washington

Handed the play-calling duties after Lane Kiffin was relieved of his duties as Alabama offensive coordinator, former Washington coach Steve Sarkisian is making a good impression early on in his promotion to the new role with Alabama, notes Chip Patterson of CBS Sports. Sarkisian was formerly an offensive analyst for the Tide.

UCLA

It’s official now, as Thuc Nhi Nguyen tells us that UCLA hired Jedd Fisch as offensive coordinator. Fisch spent the last two years as Michigan’s passing game coordinator under Jim Harbaugh.

Oregon

Oregon hired Charles Clark as its defensive backs coach, the school announced Thursday and linked here by College Football Talk. Clark comes to Eugene via Boulder, where he also worked under Jim Leavitt at Colorado.

Oregon State football hired Jason Phillips and John Rushing as assistant coaches, Gina Mizell reports. Phillips will be the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach, while Rushing will coach the safeties.
