Skinner repeats on gymnastics awards; Williams is specialist of the week

Gymnast and Freshman / Newcomer of the Week: MyKayla Skinner, UTAH
• For the third week in a row, UTAH Freshman MyKayla Skinner has been named both the Gymnast and Freshman of the week. Only one other time since the advent of the Freshman / Newcomer of the Week award in 2013 has the same gymnast won both awards in the same week (Toni-Ann Williams in 2015).
• This week Skinner won four individual titles titles (vault, beam, floor, all-around) to lead UTAH to victory over No. 7 Denver, No. 15 Boise State and Illinois-Chicago. 
• Her 39.775 all-around score is the second-best in the country this year and is tied for fifth in UTAH history. 39.775 all-around score is tied for the best ever by a Ute freshman.
• Skinner scored career bests on every event (9.975 vault, 9.9 bars, 9.925 beam, 9.975 floor, 39.775 all-around) this weekend.
• Her 9.975 floor score is tied for No. 1 in the nation. and she has now won 13 of 15 possible titles in UTAH's first three meets.
• Skinner also helped UTAH to a season-high 197.625 score, which ranks third in the country this season and moved the Utes up one place to No. 4 in the national rankings.

Specialist of the Week: Toni-Ann Williams, CALIFORNIA
• Toni-Ann Williams repeated as the floor champion for the third week in a row with a 9.90, and picked up a second event title of her three events with a season-high 9.875 on vault.
• Her floor title was one of two season-highs she set on the evening, also adding a 9.875 on bars to finish third.
• The Randallstown, Md. product now has a team-high four event titles and seven top-three finishes this season.
