Utah, UCLA claim #Pac12Gym weekly awards after showdown in Salt Lake

Gymnast of the Week: MyKayla Skinner, UTAH 
• MyKayla Skinner won her fifth Gymnast of the Week award this season after the all-around (39.675), vault (9.925) and floor (9.95) to lead Utah past  UCLA 197.875-197.500.
• Skinner remains undefeated (7-0) in the all-around and on vault.
• Her 39.675 all-around against UCLA was the best score in the Pac-12 last week. 
• Skinner also scored a season-high 9.925 on bars vs. UCLA and has now won 26 of a possible 35 events this season.

Specialist of the Week: Katelyn Ohashi, UCLA
• Katelyn Ohashi earned a pair of 9.95s on beam and a 9.85 and 9.9 on floor as the Bruins competed in two meets in three days over the President's Day weekend.
• Ohashi tied for first on beam at Utah on Saturday with a 9.95, hitting her extremely difficult back handspring / back handspring / layout full series and sticking her dismount. She also followed a fall on floor at Utah and scored 9.85 to keep the Bruins in the hunt.
• At the Bruins' tri-meet on Monday, she hit her series again and scored 9.95 to place second behind only teammate Kyla Ross' perfect 10. On floor exercise, she led off with a career-high-tying 9.9 to tie for first place.

Freshman / Newcomer of the Week: Kyla Ross, UCLA
• Kyla Ross scored two perfect 10s in three days, earning a 10 on bars at Utah on Saturday and a 10 on beam against Utah State/Bridgeport on Monday.
• Ross now has three perfect 10s this season and is the first Bruin to score three perfect 10s in a season since Tasha Schwikert in 2005.
• She won the all-around in the tri-meet Monday, scoring a career-high 39.225 and picking up victories on vault (9.9) and beam (10.0) and a second-place finish on bars (9.925). 
• At Utah, Ross scored her second 10 of the season on bars to take first place and also tied for third on vault with a 9.875. 
• She finished with six Top 3 finishes on the weekend.
