STANFORD, Calif. — Jordan Bell's tip-in with :14 remaining carried No. 6 Oregon to a 75-73 win over Stanford Saturday afternoon at Maples Pavilion.
Bell's bucket saved Oregon (26-4, 15-2) after a late rally by Stanford (14-14, 6-10) tied the game at 73-73 with 1:34 left.
With UCLA defeating Arizona Saturday night, Oregon will now play for the Pac-12 regular season title and Pac-12 Tournament No. 1 seed next Saturday at Oregon State.
How It Happened: The Ducks had four offensive rebounds on their final offensive sequence that eventually ended in Bell's game-winner. Dillon Brooks missed a jumper, but Bell fought for the rebound. Then Tyler Dorsey missed a shot but Payton Pritchard corralled the loose ball.
As the shot clock was winding down, Dylan Ennis launched a three-pointer that was partially blocked, and Pritchard – aware of the impending shot clock violation – grabbed the ball in the mid-air and flipped a shot in the lane that was just off the mark. The ball bounced lightly off the rim and Bell out-fought two Cardinal players for game-winner.
Stanford had one final chance and went to Reid Travis down low, but his drive to the right was stopped by Bell, and when he turned back to the left, Brooks was there to knock the ball away and Ennis fell on it as time ran out.
The entertaining Pac-12 game featured six ties in the final 7:54 and neither team led by more than four points the entire second half.
The first half saw a contrast of styles as the Ducks built a 43-37 halftime lead. Oregon had 17 points off Stanford's 11 turnovers, while the Cardinal used 13 offensive rebounds to score 15 second chance points.
Dorsey had 13 points at the break, while Travis kept Stanford close with 17 points and nine rebounds. Travis finished the game with 27 points and 14 rebounds for the Cardinal.
Who Stood Out: Pritchard had one of his best games as a Duck, scoring 13 points with a career-best five steals. The freshman from West Linn, Ore., also had five rebounds and three assists, and just one turnover in 34 minutes.
Dorsey led Oregon with 15 points, while Brooks scored 14, Bell added 13 and Ennis and Chris Boucher both scored nine. Brooks also had four important assists, three in the second half.
The Ducks also did a good job of taking care of the ball, finishing the game with just eight turnovers. Oregon had 19 turnovers the last time these two teams played in January and the Cardinal had forced 20 turnovers a game over their last six.
Oregon finished the game scoring 19 points off 15 Stanford turnovers.
What It Means: Oregon has won 15 conference games for the first time in program history. The Ducks' previous best was 14 in 1938, 1939, 2002 and 2016.

Head coach Dana Altman
