LEADING OFF...

• The 21st- ranked Sun Devils softball team will continue conference play on the road this weekend at No. 1/3 Oregon. The Sun Devils enter the weekend after claiming their first Pac-12 series win over Oregon State last weekend.

• After sputtering on offense in their Pac-12 opener at No. 6 Washington, the Sun Devils got back on track in last week's four games. The Sun Devils combined to record 35 runs on 38 hits in four games last week. Of those 38 hits, 23 were for extra bases, including 15 home runs.

• Based on the most recent NCAA Stats released this week, ASU has the hardest remaining schedule, in terms of opponents win percentage. The Sun Devils' remaining games will be against teams who have combined for a .793 win percentage so far this year. By the same metric, six of the top-10 teams compete in the Pac-12. While the Sun Devils lead the way, Texas A&M ranks second, while UCLA, Utah and South Carolina round out the top-five.

• Entering the week, Arizona State boasts the nation's 13th best ERA, with a stellar 1.43 mark through seven weeks of play. Three of the Sun Devils' four pitchers rank inside the top 100 individually with Breanna Macha (1.61),  Dale Ryndak (1.51) and Giselle Juarez (1.62) each checking appear on the list of top-100 ERA's checking in at No. 53, 63 and 64, respectively.

•  Arizona State jumped five spots in the second set of NCAA RPI rankings, released this week, checking in at No. 28. Seven Pac-12 teams checked in in the top-40, including claiming the top-three spots. Washington still held on at No. 1 for the second straight week, closely followed by  Arizona and Oregon to round out the top-three.

•  The Pac-12 had another strong showing nationally this week as seven of nine teams in the Pac-12 were either ranked or receiving votes in this week's NFCA Coaches Poll.  Oregon leads the pack at No. 3 while Arizona checked in just behind the Ducks at No. 4. Washington and Utah both earned a spot in the polls checking in at No. 8 and 15, respectively.

WEEKEND SCOUTING REPORT:
Oregon enters the weekend series with the nation's only undefeated record at 29-0. In their last outing, the Ducks claimed a series win over No. 15 Utah, claiming a pair of wins before having game three of the series rained out.

Oregon has enjoyed a bit of success at the expense of the Sun Devils over the past few years, but ASU still holds a 56-41-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Ducks. In their last series meeting, the Ducks swept the Sun Devils in Tempe to extend their win streak against ASU to six games.

Oregon has received a great effort this season from sophomore infielder Danica Mercado, who has recorded a team leading .484 batting average among players who have had at least 25 at-bats. Mercado enters the weekend series riding a 12 game hit streak, that includes five multi-hit games.

In the circle, the Ducks have got it done with a three-man rotation. The staff is led by Megan Kleist who has maintained a microscopic 0.87 ERA in her 15 appearances this season. Freshman Maggie Balint has also been a key contributor in the circle for the Ducks, providing 13 wins in just her first collegiate season. As a unit, the Ducks have combined to allow just 37 runs on 128 hits while chalking up 83 strikeouts.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Following the three-game sires against the Ducks, the Sun Devils will enjoy a week off before hitting the road again to face Stanford, April 13-15.
