STANFORD, Calif. – Led by
Kelsey Murray and
Madison O'Leary, Stanford had four Cardinal named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference teams, as announced by the conference Wednesday.
Both Murray and O'Leary were named to the first team while teammates
Dillon Schoen and
Elizabeth Cusick claimed second team honors.
Murray, a redshirt junior attacker, is a two-time honoree, as well as a 2016 second team IWLCA All-American. The Wilmette, Illinois native has posted a career-best season in goals (51), assists (25) and points (76). With another year of eligibility remaining, Murray has already claimed the Stanford career record in points (214) and is currently fourth in goals with 136.
O'Leary, a junior captain from Gainesville, Florida has posted her best year for the Cardinal this season patrolling the Cardinal defensive end. She currently has career-bests in ground balls (20) and caused turnovers (16) on the year. The honor is her first.
Cusick, a senior from Westfield, N.J., collected her first All-MPSF honor after compiling a career season. Prior to the 2017 campaign, Cusick posted a career-best four goals once. This year, she has posted four goals in four different games to drive the Cardinal offense.
Schoen returns to the All-MPSF team after garnering the same accolade last season. A junior captain from Darien, Connecticut, Schoen has proven to be a huge asset to the Cardinal as she's currently ranked 8th in caused turnovers, 14th in free position shots, 27th in goals, and 28th in points in the MPSF. In addition, she's ranked 76th in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game.
Stanford opens its 14th and final MPSF Tournament this week in search of its 10th conference title. The Cardinal will face California in the quarterfinals Thursday at noon PT at McAlister Field in Los Angeles, Calif.
