CORVALLIS – Former Oregon State standout offensive lineman Sean Harlow was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of Saturday's 2017 NFL Draft.
The 6-4, 310-pound Harlow played tackle for the Beavers, starting 37 career games. The San Clemente (Cal.) High School graduate and native participated in the NFL Combine and was invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game earlier this year.
"The opportunity to continue to play this great game in the NFL has been a dream of mine since I was a kid," Harlow said. "I am blessed to have been able to play at Oregon State and can't thank everyone enough who has helped me develop to this point; that doesn't just apply to football, but socially and academically as well. Thank you Beaver Nation for all the support and I can't wait to make you proud representing OSU at the next level. Go Beavs!"
He is the second lineman to be drafted in as many years following Isaac Seumalo, a third round selection of the Philadelphia Eagles last year. Harlow also becomes the fourth Beaver to be selected in Draft history by the Falcons. He joins a list of active former Beaver offensive linemen in the NFL that includes Seumalo, Andy Levitre (Falcons), Colin Kelly (Jaguars), Mike Remmers (Vikings), and Josh Andrews (Eagles).
"Sean is a tremendous young man who has a bright future in the NFL," Beaver running game coordinator/offensive line coach T.J. Woods said. "He is a throwback player who plays the game and the position the way it should be played."
Harlow graduated in December with a bachelor's degree in human development and family sciences. His father, Pat Harlow, was a 1991 first round draft selection of the New England Patriots after an All-American lineman career at USC.
