NCAA Softball Regionals: Utah defeats Fordham in five innings
The Utes rallied for 10 runs through the first three innings, ultimately toppling Fordham 10-0 in a run rule ending to open up the NCAA tourney. The Utes capitalized early on Fordham's three errors; starter Lauren Quense tossed just two innings, earning four of the eight Utah runs scored
Utah scored three runs in the first and Heather Bowen put the game out of reach, launching a two-run bomb, her seventh of the season, to give Utah an 8-0 heading into the third.
Katie Donovon and Hailey Hilburn combined for five shutout innings, allowing just two hits. Donovon struck out five of the 10 batters she faced.

The Utes advance in the winners' bracket and will play in-state rival BYU on May 19.
