No. 1 ranked UCLA leads Pac-12 Women's Soccer

• UCLA enters the week ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches poll after two weeks of non-conference play. Stanford is ranked No. 5 and USC makes the jump to No. 7, keeping three Pac-12 teams in the top 10. UTAH moved up the list to No. 17 and remains perfect with a 3-0 record. COLORADO returns to the top 25 at No. 21 and CALIFORNIA joins the group for the first time this season at No. 25.

• This week’s top-25 matchups starts on Friday with No. 5 STANFORD against No. 10 Georgetown and is broadcast on Pac-12 Bay Area. WASHINGTON STATE faces No. 14 Nebraska and on Pac-12 Washington, WASHINGTON takes on No. 2 Florida. Eight competitions this week will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.

• UCLA takes over the top spot in the national poll after picking up two wins last week against Santa Clara, 4-2, and Santa Barbara, 3-1. Recording 17 goals so far this year, the Bruins rank second nationally in total goals and total points (55). The team comes in fifth for points per game (4.25) and ties Utah for the most total assists with 21.

• The Utes keep their perfect slate with two wins last weekend and ranks No. 2 in the nation, averaging 5.0 goals per game and tops the NCAA polls with 7.0 assists per contest. Junior Hailey Skolmoski scored four goals and added one assists to help tie the program’s record for most goals in a single game in the squad’s 9-0 victory over North Dakota State. The Riverton, Utah, native leads the country with 13 points and six goals so far this season.  

• USC ranks No. 7 and hits the road to face Missouri on Friday and Kansas on Sunday. The Trojans did not have any contests last week and maintain a 1-0 record beating UC Davis in their home opener. The Buffs return to the rankings with a 3-0-1 record, defeating TCU, 1-0, and UC Riverside, 6-0. No. 25 Cal bounced back after dropping their first game to San Francisco, 1-0, to blank UC Davis, 2-0.

• UCLA junior forward Hailie Mace earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week nods recording a hat trick in the first half of the Bruins’ win over Santa Clara. Mace not only collected Conference honors, but also landed a spot on TopDrawerSoccer’s Team of the Week.

• Colorado senior defender Joss Orejel was tabbed with her first-career Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor and UCLA sophomore Teagan Micah was the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week, leading the Bruins to a No. 1 National Ranking.
