Arizona

Fresh off another impressive victory, this time beating Washington State 58-37, Arizona is now ranked in the AP Top 25 at No. 23, and Michael Lev reminds us that Arizona is one of the youngest teams in the country. Arizona has played 17 true freshmen thus far, which is tied for fourth most among FBS teams.

Oregon State

Oregon State tight end Quinn Smith has started an online petition to make Cory Hall the full-time head football coach for the Beavers. As of Sunday night, the petition had 1,350 signatures, surpassing its stated goal of 1,000.

UCLA

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen left the Washington game with an apparent finger injury in the third quarter (ESPN). Bruce Feldman reports that Rosen’s injury is not serious and that the staff will monitor the injury this week.

Stanford

Stanford women’s soccer clinched its third straight Pac-12 title by beating defending national champion USC 3-1 in Los Angeles Sunday afternoon, getting goals from Catarina Macario, Michelle Xiao and Kiki Pickett.

USC

Zach Helfand tells us how a meeting between safety Chris Hawkins and head coach Clay Helton helped USC beat Arizona State 48-17 on Saturday night. Hawkins apparently told Helton he felt like the team was more like a bunch of individuals than a close-knit unit, leading Helton to tell his team to “let loose,” according to Helfand.

Oregon

John Canzano believes that Oregon produced a statement game in its 41-20 win over Utah. The win got the Ducks to 5-4, one win shy of bowl eligibility.

Utah

Lynn Worthy writes that Utah’s season is at a “crossroads” after losing to Oregon. The Utes have lost four straight for the first time since 2013, the last time they didn’t go bowling.

Colorado

Brian Howell praises the Colorado coaching staff for their part in the Buffs’ 44-28 win over Cal on Saturday. The Buffs are 5-4 as a result and a win against Arizona State next weekend will get them to a bowl game.

Washington

All good on Montlake for the Huskies in Washington’s 44-23 win over UCLA, leading Washington running back Lavon Coleman to dance with the Husky Marching Band after his three-touchdown performance.

Arizona State

Cool moment here – Arizona State women’s soccer senior Aly Moon got a surprise visit from her brother, an active military member, before her senior day game Sunday in Tempe (Pac-12.com).

California

Rusty Simmons notes that Cal has now lost 11 straight Pac-12 road games following the 44-28 defeat at Colorado.

Washington State

Theo Lawson analyzes Washington State’s loss to Arizona in this piece for The Spokesman-Review.
