Richardson Signing Bumps Ducks’ Recruiting Class to No. 8 Nationally

11/17/17 | Men's Basketball

EUGENE, Ore. – Guard Will Richardson from Hinesville, Ga., will join a pair of nationally-ranked prep forwards who signed with Oregon last week to give the Ducks the highest-ranked recruiting class  - currently No. 8 according to 247Sports.com - in school history,  head coach Dana Altman announced Friday.

Richardson, a four-star player, signed a National Letter of Intent with Oregon to become part of an impressive class that already included Louis King, a five-star forward from Burlington, N.J., and Miles Norris, a four-star forward from the San Diego area.

"Will is a great addition to our class in terms of what he brings to Oregon both on and off the floor," said Altman. "He's a versatile player who can play both guard spots and I think he will complement to our current team. He's got a great family around him and we're looking forward to having them all as Ducks."

Prior to Richardson's signing, The Ducks' 2018 class was ranked 26th nationally and fourth in the Pac-12 by 247Sports.com. With Richardson, Oregon moves up to No. 8 in the nation and second in the Pac-12, just a fraction of a point behind USC.

Oregon's previous high national ranking of No. 12 came just last year when the Ducks signed Troy Brown, Victor Bailey Jr., Abu Kigab and Kenny Wooten.

The Ducks' 2004 class, that included Malik Hairston, Maarty Leunen, Chamberlain Oguchi and Bryce Taylor, was 14th nationally.
