Roundup: Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold declare for NFL Draft

UCLA

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen declared for the 2018 NFL Draft on Wednesday, he announced on Twitter (Bleacher Report). Rosen threw for 3,717 yards with 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 63 percent of his passes in 2017.

USC

Just 25 minutes after Rosen made his announcement, USC quarterback Sam Darnold also declared for the NFL Draft after throwing for 4,413 yards, 26 touchdowns and 13 picks in 2017.

Arizona

Former Arizona offensive lineman Warner Smith died Tuesday after battling Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) for the last few years. Smith was a four-year starter and helped the Wildcats to their first 10-win season in 1994.

Colorado

It’s official now – Colorado football has hired Kurt Roper as its quarterbacks coach (The Washington Post). Roper, a former offensive coordinator at a few Power Five schools, worked with Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre at Mississippi and Duke.

Washington State

Washington

Unfortunately I couldn’t find a news article for this, so we’ll go with this tweet from U-Dub – Washington women’s basketball signee Haley Van Dyke scored a league-record 58 points to go along with 27 rebounds to lead Campolindo High to a 96-75 win over Brookside Christian on Tuesday. That’s quite the stat line.

California

Cal’s Abbey Weitzeil was named Pac-12 Women’s Swimmer of the Month for December, while UCLA’s Eloise Belanger was named Pac-12 Women’s Diver of the Month.
