Seven Pac-12 gymnastics squads ranked heading into week four

All eight Pac-12 teams are in action again this week, with three Conference matchups televised live on Pac-12 Networks.
 
Two matchups of top-20 teams are slated to take place, kicking off with No. 3 UTAH at No. 21 ARIZONA on Friday, followed by No. 23 STANFORD at No. 18 OSU on Saturday. Meanwhile also on Saturday, No. 4 UCLA and No. 14 WASHINGTON will compete in the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas along with No. 2 LSU and North Carolina State.
 
On Sunday, CALIFORNIA travels to No. 14 ASU in a special home meet for ASU dedicated to "Flip Out Cancer,” which will honor cancer survivors. The event is also the Gym Devils' "Princess/Prince" Meet, where fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite prince or princess, and will feature Disney favorites Cinderella, and Belle from "Beauty and the Beast."
 
In the first week of Conference play, Utah recorded their highest score of the season in a 197.450-196.300 win over Oregon State. The Utes were led by MyKayla Skinner who won four individual titles, posting season highs in the all-around (39.725), vault (9.95), bars (9.975) and beam (9.925).
 
Washington came away with the win in their first home competition of the season, besting California 196.325-194.850 in their highest-scoring competition of the early season. In the individual results, three Golden Bears captured titles with high scores in all events. Toni-Ann Williams won the crown in three events with season-high scores on vault (9.900), floor (9.925) and the all-around (39.325). Kyana George took first place on beam with a career-high 9.90 and teammate Nina Schank scored a career-high 9.925 to win the title on bars.
 
This week’s reigning Pac-12 Freshman/ Newcomer of the Week, Cairo Leonard-Baker, helped Arizona State defeat Stanford 196.250-195.650 in the squad’s fourth victory over a ranked opponent. Stanford’s Elizabeth Price, the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week, took home gold in all five events, posting 9.950 on beam, vault and uneven bars, 9.925 on floor, and tallying 39.775 in all-around. She is currently the national leader on bars, floor (tied) and all-around, while ranking third on vault.
 
Madison Kocian returned from shoulder surgery in August to compete on balance beam in last week’s UCLA vs. Arizona matchup. Undefeated UCLA earned the road win with a season-high team score of 197.300 over Arizona’s 195.750. Bruins totaled 11 career-high scores and the team had an event winner in all four events, with Katelyn Ohashi placing first in the all-around, scoring a career-high 39.45.
 
This week’s national rankings have seven Pac-12 squads ranked, with Utah at No. 3, joined in the top-25 by No. 4 UCLA, No. 14 (tie) ASU and Washington, No. 18 OSU, No. 21 Arizona and No. 23 Stanford.

GYMNASTICS ON PAC-12 NETWORKS
Pac-12 Networks, now in its sixth season of unprecedented coverage of Pac-12 sports, will air 25 women’s gymnastics meets this season, including a “Meet the Bruins” preview. All eight Pac-12 schools will appear on the Networks at least three times: Arizona (3), Arizona State (4), California (5), Oregon State (7), Stanford (4), UCLA (7), Utah (7) and Washington (4). Both sessions of the 2018 Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships will be televised live nationally on Pac-12 Network on Saturday, Mar. 24 at McKale Memorial Center in Tucson, Arizona.
