Baseball Returns to Pac-12 Networks this Weekend with the First of Over 100 Telecasts this Season

SAN FRANCISCO – In its sixth season of coverage, Pac-12 Networks is set to deliver 102 collegiate baseball broadcasts in the Conference’s 102nd season. Coverage begins this Sunday, March 4 at 11 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. MT as Arizona State hosts Oklahoma State live on Pac-12 Network and the Pac-12 Now app.
 
This year’s broadcast team welcomes the addition of Brian Anderson to the Pac-12 Networks analyst roster. Tyler Paley, Mike Crispino and Matt McConnell will join as baseball play-by-play announcers. The Networks also returns familiar faces Eric Byrnes, Wes Clements, Scott Erickson, Andy Lopez, Donnie Marbut, J.T. Snow, Kevin Stocker and Dean Stotz for color this season. Thad Anderson, Rich Burk, Guy Haberman, Greg Heister, J.B. Long, Ted Robinson, Daron Sutton and Jim Watson will round out this year’s baseball play-by-play team.
 
Brian Anderson joins the Pac-12 Networks team as an analyst this baseball season.  The former Wildcat played parts of five Major League seasons with the Chicago White Sox (2005-09) and Boston Red Sox (2009) after signing as a first-round selection (15th overall) in the 2003 Draft out of the University of Arizona.

Each Pac-12 program will be featured at least 14 times: Arizona (20), Arizona State (16), California (14), Oregon (14), Oregon State (21), Stanford (19), UCLA (17), USC (16), Utah (17), Washington (17), and Washington State (14). Of the 102 total games, 19 will be traditional rivalry games.
 
Heading into the 2018 season, the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Preseason Poll had three Pac-12 teams ranked, with Oregon State leading the way as the No. 2 team nationally, followed by UCLA at No. 14 and Stanford at No. 16. The Pac-12 also had 21 total preseason All-America selections from six schools. Oregon State had four student-athletes featured on three different preseason All-America lists- National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America. OSU first baseman Nick Madrigal collected first-team selections on all three polls, while Oregon pitcher Kenyon Yovan garnered a pair of first team All-America selections. Every Pac-12 school had at least one student-athlete selected in the 2017 MLB Draft, with a total of 46 Pac-12 players drafted. Four Pac-12 baseball players were drafted among the top 75 draft picks with Oregon’s David Peterson as the first Pac-12 player to be drafted with the 20th overall pick to the New York Mets.
