Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Eric Fomba, Gr., Stanford (Paris, France)

Graduate student Eric Fomba, playing in his first season with No. 3 Stanford, earned two wins over the weekend as the Cardinal captured four victories. Stanford opened the week with league victories over No. 20 Arizona State (4-3) and Arizona (4-0) and then on Sunday shut out Air Force (4-0) and Army (7-0).

In the Pac-12 match versus ASU, Fomba got the win at the No. 4 singles spot to lift Stanford to a 4-3 victory. After capturing the first set against his ASU opponent, he narrowly dropped the second set in a tiebreaker 6-7 (7). He roared back from a 5-2 third-set deficit and won the final five games to clinch the match for Stanford.

On the No. 3 Court, he teamed up with Sam Turchetta to help Stanford earn the doubles point against Air Force (6-1), while his singles matches against the Air Force and Arizona went unfinished.
