Pac-12 announces Baseball Players of the Week

OREGON STATE'S LUKE HEIMLICH TABBED PITCHER OF THE WEEK

SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today that Stanford’s Brandon Wulff was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week and Oregon State’s Luke Heimlich was tabbed Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week

Pac-12 Baseball Player of the Week: Brandon Wulff, Jr., OF, Stanford (Las Vegas, Nev.)
• Wulff recorded three multi-hit games last week leading No. 3 Stanford to a sweep over USC at home. The junior went 7-11 at bat (.636) with one double, one homerun, and seven RBI.
• He opened the series with two runs and one double in the Cardinals’ 5-1 win on Friday. In Sunday’s 18-0 shutout, Wulff hit his third homer of the season and tallied six RBI for a new career high while going 3-for-3 with one walk.
• Wulff has successfully reached base in all 19 games this season for the Cardinal’s longest streak thus far. Holds the team’s third best batting average at .354 and ties for the second most RBI this season with 17.
• Collects first Pac-12 Player of the Week honor and Stanford’s 141st all-time weekly nod.

Pac-12 Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Luke Heimlich, Sr., LHP, Oregon State (Puyallup, Wash.)
• Heimlich collected his fifth win this season in Oregon State’s 16-1 victory over Washington in the series opener and first matchup of a doubleheader on Saturday.
• Heimlich threw 7 1/3 innings and struck out a career-best 13 batters for the most by a Pac-12 pitcher this season and allowed just four hits and one run.
• Leads the Conference in wins (5), strikeouts (44) and ranks sixth in the league in earned run average (2.01) and opposing batting average (.191).
• Earns fifth career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor and OSU’s 132nd all-time weekly nod.
